Do not leave your children alone at pool or near a pool. A responsible adult who knows CPR should be present at all times. For children younger than 5 years old – Always keep them within arm’s length at all times. Instruct babysitters about potential hazards to young children in and around swimming pools and the need for constant supervision. Do not consider young children “drown proof” because they have had swimming lessons; young children should always be watched carefully while swimming. Do not use flotation devices as a substitute for supervision. Air-filled “swimming aids” are NOT a substitute for approved life vests. |
